Brignall Water Mill
A new shower room built along with two flights of Oak staircases fitted, new insulated walls and viewing panels.
LOCATION: Brignall, Barnard Castle
COMPLETED: 2019
The first job was to try and squeeze in a new toilet, shower and hand basin into a tight hall way which we managed to do which included making a route through stone steps for the waste pipe.
The client found that in the same end where all the lovely old water wheels were was always cold and draughty so we built stud work to the external walls, insulated and plaster boarded and skimmed.
We also built stud work to inclose the wheels but also built in viewing windows so old the old workings could still be seen.
There was also two staircases removed and replaced with Oak, one of them had glass rises fitted to help with the draught but also keeping the old working on full show.
